Chon Buri is one-hour drive from Bangkok along Highway No. 34 (Bang Na-Trat). Alternatively, a faster trip can be made by taking Motor Way (new Bangkok-Chon Buri Route).

The former paddy fields have turned into a thriving beach. Only 3 km. down Pattaya Beach, Jomtien is highly recommended to those who seek a quieter resort. The 6-kilometer long, largely straight beach is popular with windsurfers and watersports enthusiasts.

It is also quieter and more relaxing than Pattaya Beach. Hotels and other accommodation facilities are available along the road that runs parallel to the shore. The beach here is cleaner than those on Pattaya Bay.

A former fishing village, Pattaya has grown over the years to an action-packed beach destination. The curving coastline offers plenty to do with water sports, island tours, offbeat museums, fishing, golf and a famously vibrant nightlife, especially around South Pattaya. If you want to relax away from the crowd, Jomtien offers a more relaxed option.
